In a message on 20th October 2009, Amir Hossein Jahanchahi clearly elaborated the main features of his program of political action against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Islamic Republic. He then extended an invitation to all other opponents of Ahmadinejad – namely all of Iran’s progressive political forces, and went on to suggest the underlying features of a new political structure for unifying the external opposition with disenchanted elements within the country’s ruling bureaucracy and institutions.
Such a structure provided the natural environment where all key sectors outside government (e.g. women, the youth in general and students in particular, workers, the Bazaaris, unions as well as the general brutalized public) could stand next to unhappy elements within the ruling administration [inclusive of key people within the armed forces, the IRGC (Revolutionary Guards), the religious establishment and other institutions] in wait of the opportune moment to display their unity of action along with their anger and protestations against Ahmadinejad’s brutal oppression, corruption, murder and warmongering policies.
Later on 19 March 2010, Amir Hossein Jahanchahi, founded ‘Green Wave’ under the Secretary Generalship of Dr. Mehrdad Khonsari, which was to become the first major political structure with its own independent financial and logistical capabilities for supporting all resistance activities inside Iran.
Green Wave’s main strategy is to convert all disenchanted elements in all walks of society inside Iran into active cells of resistance while at the same pursuing serious dialogue with important and influential elements inside the regime for creating the right conditions for a national insurrection that will have the active support of key organizations such as the armed forces, the IRGC as well as many of Iran’s religious leaders.
Having pledged to unveil the program of action for a provisional government no later than 3 months following the establishment of Green Wave, in June 2010, Amir Hossein Jahanchachi published and distributed a document entitled ”Direction, Responsibilities, and Duration of a Provisional Government in Iran Under the Supervision of The Supreme Council for Security and National Interest”, that had been prepared with the assistance of a number of key experts inside Iran.
As a result, a clear overall picture of the plans, policies and responsibilities of the provisional government which is to immediately replace the Islamic Republic – without any lapse of authority or security in the country, was provided to all political forces cooperating with Green Wave. The published document further elaborated on matters relating to the fate and status of all key government leaders who choose to support the people in this inevitable showdown.
Following the publication of this program, a number of key personalities within the regime representing elements in the IRGC, the armed forces, the clerical establishment, the bureaucracy, the economic sector and in particular the oil and gas industry have already joined Green Wave. While the identity of a small number of such personalities have been revealed in the course of a series of well received press conferences, the large majority were asked to remain in their current positions and to pursue their cooperation clandestinely with Green Wave. Efforts by the Ahmadinejad security establishment to discover the identity of such people have repeatedly failed in the past.
Finally on 3rd February 2011, Amir Hossein Jahanchahi openly declared that Green Wave cells inside Iran were now in position and will in a series of operations aimed at bringing the government to its knees in the coming months, seriously cripple the energy sector, thus preventing Ahmadinejad and his cohorts from utilizing the wealth of the Iranian nation for enriching themselves and using such proceeds to suppress and brutalize Iranians at home while financing terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda, Taleban, Hezbollah and Hamas abroad.
In conclusion, it must be made clear that Green Wave is not a political party but an umbrella organization to coordinate the activities of all national forces inside the country who are engaged in the struggle for the liberation of their homeland. The main objective of Amir Hossein Jahanchahi and Green Wave is the removal of the Islamic Republic from the seat of power and the establishment of a provisional government to pave the right conditions for holding free elections. Those cooperating with Green Wave inside Iran will continue to retain their individual political identities while benefiting from resources made available to them by Green Wave both inside and outside the country as the Green Wave agenda for overthrowing Ahmadinejad and his regime and the liberation of the Iranian nation unfolds.
